WARMTH & WEATHER

How warm are your wool coats?
Our coats are made from 100% wool and fully lined, offering excellent warmth for cold winter conditions.  Our line is designed and tested in Chicago, IL (a city in the USA notorious for it's harsh winters.)

Are your coats suitable for very cold winters?
Yes. Customers in the Midwest, Northeast, and Europe regularly wear our coats through winter. Wool naturally insulates while remaining breathable.

Which is your warmest coat style?
Our full-length wool coats and double breasted coats (such as The Dearborn, Mag Mile  and Southport) are much warmer than our single breasted shorter styles (such as the Tuxedo, Halsted, and Oakley.) More coat = More warmth

SIZING & FIT

Are your coats true to size?
Our coats are designed to fit true to size with room for layering. If you plan to wear very thick sweaters or blazers underneath, you may prefer to size up. We always recommend reviewing the size guide and reaching out if you’re unsure.

Are the sleeves long enough for taller customers?
Yes. Our sleeves are intentionally cut with length in mind and comfortably fit many customers with longer arms. Exact sleeve measurements vary by style. Our Dearborn, Southport, and Tuxedo Coats all have adjustable cuffs that can extend to a 34" sleeve length.

Do your coats work for petite customers?
Many of our customers under 5'4" wear our coats successfully, though sleeve and overall length may feel longer depending on the style. Our size XXS is engineered for women under 5'4" that are a size 00/0. If you are under 5'4" and a size 2 or larger we encourage you to try the coat as is. Lengths can be altered for an alteration fee once the customer has tried on the coat and determined how much they would like it shortened. In some cases, we can make a new coat based upon preferred alterations, but we still ask that you try the style as is so that we can make adjustments accordingly.

How do your coats fit through the hips and shoulders?
Fit varies by style. Some coats have a more tailored silhouette, while others offer ease through the hips or a gentle swing shape. If you have broader shoulders or a pear-shaped figure, we’re happy to help you choose the best style.

Should I size up if I plan to layer sweaters?
If you regularly wear very thick wool sweaters or blazers underneath your coats, sizing up can provide extra comfort. Most of our customers are able to layer comfortably in their usual size thanks to the thoughtful cut of our coats.

LENGTH, SILHOUETTE & STYLE

How long are your coats?
Length varies by style and size, falling between mid-hip to mid-calf depending on the style. Taller or shorter customers may experience a different visual lengths. Please reach out to find out the exact spec length if interested.

Do your coats have a swing or tailored shape?
We offer both. Some styles feature a gentle swing for ease and movement, while others are more structured and tailored. Product descriptions note the silhouette.

Do your coats look good without the belt?
Yes. Many of our coats are designed to drape beautifully with or without the belt, offering flexibility in styling. Our belt carriers are threaded loops which can be easily snipped off if you prefer to not to wear a belt. Additionally, the belt carriers can be easily moved (higher or lower) depending on where your waist hits. We ask that you try on the coat as is, before requesting that belt carriers be moved.

COLORS & AVAILABILITY

Are your coats available in colors other than what’s shown online?
We occasionally offer seasonal or limited-run colors. If you see a color on our site, but do not see a certain style in that color, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to let if we can make a certain coat in a certain color. If you do not see the color you are looking for on our site, we are unable to make that color for you.

PETITE, PLUS & CUSTOM SIZING

Do you offer extended or plus sizes?
Yes. We are committed to inclusive sizing and offer extended sizes on many styles. Availability may vary by coat. Please reach out to see if we offer a plus size in a style that you are interested in.

Can you accommodate custom sizing?
We can alter our coats/ coat patterns for an alteration fee, once the customer has tried on the coat and determined what they would like changed. In these cases, we can will make a new coat based upon preferred alterations. This coat will be non-refundable. 

ORDERING, PRODUCTION & DELIVERY

Are your coats made to order?
Many of our coats are made on demand, which helps reduce waste and ensures careful craftsmanship.

How long does it take to receive my coat?
Production and delivery typically takes 4 weeks. This can vary slightly depending on the time of the year. Production tends to move slower over the summer months and winter break.

Can I receive my coat by a specific date?
If you have a deadline, contact us before ordering and we’ll do our best to advise on timing.

Do you offer local pickup?
Local pickup may be available depending on location and timing. Please reach out to inquire.

RETURNS, CARE & LONGEVITY

What is your return policy?
Unworn coats may be returned within the 30 day return window listed on our website. Please review our return policy for full details.

How should I care for my wool coat?
We recommend professional dry cleaning only to maintain the structure and longevity of the wool. We offer a few articles on how to best extend the life of your coat. See our comprehensive wool coat care guide here.

Do you offer repairs or refurbishing?
We believe in creating coats that last. While we don’t offer full refurbishing services, we’re happy to advise on care and repairs when possible. If you notice that a coat needs a repair within it's first year, we will repair it for free. Unfortunately we do not/ cannot treat any stains but do offer some care tips on our blog.
